The F210 is a portable common rail injector tester dedicated to piezoelectric injectors. Where an electromagnetic tester energises a coil to lift an armature, a piezo injector is opened by charging and discharging a ceramic stack, and that is exactly what the F210 does: it produces the piezo pulse, lets the technician reshape the charge and discharge waveform, and then reads back the capacitance, the dynamic resistance and current, the insulation condition and the voltage at which the crystal starts to open the valve. The unit weighs 3 kg and measures 24 x 20 x 13 cm, so it can be kept on the injector bench, carried in a service van or shared between a workshop and a remanufacturing line.
1. Piezo pulse drive - generates the high voltage charge and discharge pulse that opens a piezo injector valve.
2. Arbitrarily modifiable drive waveform - the charge and discharge shape is freely adjustable to match the piezo injector family under test.
3. Capacitance test - measures the capacitance of the piezo stack to judge crystal condition.
4. Dynamic resistance and current - records the electrical load of the piezo element while the injector is being driven.
5. Dynamic insulation test - checks insulation to ground during operation and detects leakage.
6. Piezo opening voltage - reads the voltage at which the piezo crystal starts to open the injector valve.
The F210 is built for the piezoelectric common rail injectors used on the third generation piezo systems of Bosch, Denso, Siemens/VDO and Continental, as well as the piezo injectors found on heavy diesel platforms. The mainstream piezo injector families across these brands are covered, and the supplied adapter leads and alligator clips connect the tester to the injector electrical connector. Because piezo injectors are also used on some truck and bus platforms and on industrial generator sets, the F210 is used both in truck service depots and in stationary power equipment maintenance.
The F210 is the electrical drive and measurement unit of the test chain. For a full injector function check it is connected to a common rail pressure source such as a CRad or a high pressure common rail test bench; the F210 then controls the piezo signal and reports the electrical condition of the stack while the injector is operated. Used on its own it still delivers the piezo diagnostics - capacitance, dynamic resistance and current, insulation and opening voltage - that decide whether an injector goes back to service or to the bench for further work.
Piezo injector overhaul workshops - injector remanufacturing lines for third generation piezo systems - truck and bus common rail service depots - stationary generator set and industrial engine service units - mobile service vehicles - vocational training workshops on piezoelectric fuel injection.
The F210 is built for piezoelectric injectors. Electromagnetic solenoid injectors need a coil drive tester and are not opened by a piezo unit; mechanical injectors and nozzles need a mechanical injector tester; HEUI and EUI unit injectors need their own hydraulic actuation and a dedicated unit injector bench. Fuel pump testing, injector coding and full spray quantity measurement need a complete common rail test bench, not this piezo drive unit.

1. Built for piezoelectric common rail injectors: the F210 generates the high voltage charge and discharge pulses that a piezo stack needs, so third generation piezo injectors can be driven without any solenoid drive stage.
2. Piezo opening voltage is measured on the bench. The value where the piezo crystal starts to open the injector valve is read directly and compared against the reference, which is the quickest way to separate a tired piezo stack from a healthy one.
3. Capacitance test supports the same fault finding on the piezo stack itself, since a cracked or aged crystal element changes its capacitance long before the injector fails to open.
4. Dynamic resistance and current measurement is taken while the injector is driven, so the electrical load of the piezo element is recorded under real working conditions rather than at rest.
5. Dynamic insulation test checks the insulation of the injector during operation and picks up leakage to ground, a common failure mode once a high voltage piezo injector has been through several repairs.
6. Drive waveform is freely modifiable, so the charge and discharge shape can be tuned to the piezo injector family under test instead of using one fixed pulse for every brand. Supplied with the adapter leads, alligator clips and the USB connection cable.
